Reese Dawkins is a Los Angeles-based editor and director. Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Reese has always sought thrill and experience through story. Reese’s early film education came in the form of video store rentals and entertainment gossip magazines, courtesy of film-buff parents. A deep-rooted affection for classic Hollywood populism inspires him to bring new movies to life in the edit bay.
Before pursuing filmmaking at the University of Southern California, Reese primarily spent his time in the performing and musical arts. He transferred into USC's Film & Television Production program in 2021, falling in love with editing and directing. In 2022, he began freelance editing, and now leads and assists on music videos, documentaries, and short narrative films. Along with his editorial ambitions, Reese has also joined camera departments for various shorts and feature films.
Reese aspires for a career of editing and directing feature films inspired by film noir and melodrama. In his free time, he makes time for role-playing video games and cross-country road trips.
